The spread of coronavirus in São Paulo is increasing. There are now 65 confirmed cases of the infection. The state has more than 53% of the cases registered in the country
The number of cases of the new coronavirus in the state of São Paulo has risen to 65. According to the updated report from the Ministry of Health released this Saturday (14). The state represents 53.7% of the cases of the disease in all of Brazil, which has 121 confirmed.
According to the Health Department, there are 62 confirmed cases in the capital, 1 in Santana do Parnaíba, 1 in Ferraz de Vasconcelos and 1 in Carapicuíba.

In addition to the confirmed cases, São Paulo also has 752 suspected cases and 545 that have been ruled out.
Even with the official numbers released by the ministry, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein reported that there were 98 confirmed cases in the state last Thursday (12).
As of Friday (13), São Paulo had recorded 56 cases in the state, according to the Ministry of Health, an increase of 9 cases in the last 24 hours.
Measures to contain transmission
The government of São Paulo and the City Hall of the capital of São Paulo announced on Friday (13) that as of Monday (16), classes in state and municipal schools are suspended. The total suspension will take place as of the 23rd.
In higher education, the University of São Paulo (USP) and the São Paulo State University (Unesp) announced that starting Tuesday (17), they will suspend classes.
It was announced last Friday afternoon, by the Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute, the suspension of classes at its units in São Paulo after the confirmation of two cases of coronavirus at the university itself on the capital's campus, in the Higienópolis neighborhood.
