While the Manaus-Boa Vista line north, was auctioned in 2011, so it had a three-year deadline to be completed.

Roraima is the only state outside the National Interconnected System (SIN), despite the crisis in Venezuela, which used to supply the state, and now has energy from thermoelectric plants.

In addition to energy security, when Roraima is interconnected to the SIN, the cost of energy should become cheaper throughout the country.

Today, the cost of Roraima's diesel thermoelectric plants alone costs the Brazilian population around R$2.4 billion per year. And everyone pays.

In 2011, the concession for the electrical interconnection between Manaus and Boa Vista was put out to tender by Aneel, as it should have come into operation in 2015.

The total of 721 km of the route planned to be built in an area close to BR-174 that connects the two capitals starts on indigenous land.

Consequently, 125 km pass through the Waimiri Atroari indigenous land, where there are 31 villages and 1,600 indigenous people live in a line.

Although indigenous peoples are not against the project, they demand that they be consulted and that their requests be met because of the environmental impacts.

The minister said that the project to change the rules of the ICMS Tax, which is part of the tax reform proposal, should be ready by the end of this month.

During the negotiations, the government considered intervening directly in the case to resolve the economic and financial issue, given Aneel's signals against the request.
