In an interview with TV Integração, Hellen Amaral's psychologist explained that she was working at the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras) in the municipality of Argirita (MG).
When the elderly woman said that she had won a cell phone, but was embarrassed because she didn't know how to use the device.
“Here at Cras we value assistance rather than welfare, it means giving autonomy to the person rather than doing things for the person,” he added.
According to Hellen Amaral, the manual was made in three days.
“I tried to make it colorful because that would help her associate the colors with the icons,” he said.
During the manufacturing process, the psychologist designed the device and placed all the icons and buttons available on the home screen.
Next to each of them, an explanation, such as where to increase and decrease the sound and where to tap to display all the pages that are open.
According to the professional, the action took on a proportion.
“I started to realize that it is a need for elderly people and that they need autonomy to use new technologies,” he concluded.
