And during the week, the price of a liter of ethanol fell by 0.46%, reaching R$ 3.24.

Refinery prices

Petrobras increased the average price of gasoline at its refineries by 3% this week. It was the first fuel price increase this year.

Meanwhile, the price of the oil company's diesel remained unchanged.

The gasoline price adjustment came after the price of Brent crude oil recovered by around 10% since the 10th, when it had reached its lowest value in around 13 months, due to fears about the impact of the coronavirus on Chinese demand.

Price at gas stations

The transfer of price adjustments at refineries to the end consumer at gas stations depends on several factors, from taxes, distribution and resale margins, to biofuel blending.

Last week, gasoline and diesel prices fell – in line with data released by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

According to the ANP survey

The price of a liter of diesel fell by 1.4% in the period, to R$ 3.711, on average. The average price of a liter of gasoline for the consumer fell by 0.61%, to R$ 4.550, this week.
