The artisanal egg market is attractive to small business owners, according to Alessandra Pires, head of confectionery at Senac São Paulo: “It’s amazing because people are no longer looking for the same old thing that the industry has.
However, they want an egg full of surprises.” To achieve this, small business owners have to plan ahead: the shells can be made up to a month in advance, and the fillings 10 days before Easter.
Above all, you need to promote it in advance on social media, with attractive photos and videos and invest in new products. Half of the cost of an Easter egg comes from the packaging.
Therefore, one tip is to use a straw basket, put a ribbon on it, line it and make a kind of nest.
Another option is to wrap the egg in fabric, which reduces the cost from 5% to 10%. With the sale of artisanal eggs, profitability can reach 300%.
