Some of the measures taken by the Management Committee include the suspension of classes and the suspension of work for employees in areas with a high rate of coronavirus infection.
This Sunday (15), the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, published in the state's Official Gazette a decree that creates the Management Committee of the Covid-19 Health Prevention and Contingency Plan. Together with the Committee, he expanded the actions of state administration bodies and entities in preventing and combating the coronavirus pandemic.
In all state schools, school recess is being implemented from Wednesday 18th until Sunday 22nd March. The government points out that there is currently no scenario of community contagion and that the measures aim to reduce the impacts of the pandemic in the future.

About the decree
Among other decisions in the decree, it is foreseen that employees who have been in places with a high rate of coronavirus transmission will be suspended from work. The measure is valid for 14 days, if the employee shows symptoms of the disease. Or for seven days if there are no symptoms.
During this period, it is recommended that professionals stay at home and work remotely, if possible. If this is not possible, absences will be excused. In both cases, there will be no loss of meal or food allowance.
The governor stressed that there is no reason to panic and that the measures being adopted are preventive. “All of this is part of a set of actions to safeguard the health of all Minas Gerais residents and protect our citizens. Prevention will always be the best medicine,” said Zema.
Bodies and entities will implement actions recommended by public health bodies, such as prophylaxis, asepsis, sanitary and information measures in relation to the coronavirus.
