On Monday morning (23), the Ibovespa, the main index of the Brazilian stock exchange, had a decline of 4.46%, at 64,075.07 points.
Around the world, markets are falling again amid measures adopted by countries to combat the coronavirus. The stock market fell 4.46% this morning.
The commercial dollar was trading higher from 0.91% to R$ 5.073 on the sell side. And European stock markets were trading lower again.
Last Friday (20), the Ibovespa fell 1.85%, to 67,069.36 points. It accumulated a loss of 18.88% this week. It was its worst weekly result since October 2008.

This morning in the United States, index futures pointed to another session of losses. Asian stock markets closed lower, with Chinese stock indexes falling to their lowest level in 13 months.
In Brazil, this Monday, the Central Bank reduced the compulsory reserve rate on term deposits from 25% to 17%. The forecast is for the release of R$$ 68 billion into the economy starting March 30.
Faced with the advance of the coronavirus pandemic around the world and the sequence of deaths, several countries are applying restrictive measures in an attempt to cushion the damage and slow the spread of the disease.
Another point weighing on the markets is the failure of the US Congress on Sunday (22) which failed to approve the plan to mobilize around US$2 trillion to help the US economy. Republicans and Democrats were unable to reach an agreement in the first vote.

The dollar is trading up 2.07%, the R$ is trading at 5.1299; the Bovespa is trading down 6.46%; the New York Stock Exchange (Dow Jones): is trading down 3.83%, the London Stock Exchange is trading down 4.06%. The Madrid Stock Exchange is trading down 4.04%. In Paris, the stock exchange is trading down 3.68%, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is trading down 2.83%. The Singapore Stock Exchange closed down 7.35%. The Sydney Stock Exchange also closed down 5.62%. In Tokyo, the stock exchange closed up 2.02%. The Shanghai Stock Exchange closed down 3.11% and the Seoul Stock Exchange closed down 5.34%.
