With the new coronavirus pandemic, some institutions are providing solidarity assistance with masks and utensils used in combating Covid-19, fiat in Betim provides help in the fight.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) halted operations during the quarantine until April 21st. In solidarity with the difficult times of the crisis, it decided to help. The company, owned by an Italian-American group, is helping to set up hospitals where the company is based, including Betim in the greater Belo Horizonte area.
In addition to helping with the production of health protection, team logistics and lung ventilators.
Fiat helps fight Covid-19
The actions of companies with big names on the world stage are of great importance to encourage other companies to help and thus avoid the prolongation of the virus, business closures and an even greater increase in the economy.
The company works in three ways:

Therefore, the company is in contact with ventilator suppliers, helping with logistics and increasing production. In the state of Minas Gerais, 300 devices need repairs.
Although Fiat in Betim is using the factory to repair ventilators, which require maintenance, 18 engineers are available, coordinated by Senai. Logistics will continue to include providing vehicles to city halls, facilitating the lives of those who will save lives.
Fiat Betim provided the city with a 1,500m2 recreational facility to create a field hospital for patient care, reception, admissions, and triage. The facility will accommodate 200 people simultaneously, serving all COVID-19 patients.
According to the company, the cost is far from being calculated, as it's still early in the pandemic here in Brazil, and it's unclear how long it will last. In short, the company has been a significant help and is alerting others to the need to provide assistance at this time.
