On the 9th, the INSS authorized the receipt of medical certificates from insured individuals through the electronic portal, Meu INSS in the app or via computer. Those who use the platform to submit documentation and request sickness benefit will also automatically receive an advance payment of R$1,4045, after the certificate is validated by the Institute's medical experts.
The National Congress approved the advance payment of a minimum wage benefit, as one of the measures to protect against and combat the coronavirus pandemic.
INSS agencies are closed during this period and will remain so until the end of April. Therefore, in-person medical examinations have been suspended.

Payment of a monthly minimum wage was approved by law that guarantees receipt of sickness benefit for a period of up to three months, subject to presentation of a medical certificate
Approval in Congress
The advance payment, in the amount of one minimum wage, was approved by the National Congress as one of the measures to combat the new coronavirus pandemic. With the spread of the disease in the country, INSS agencies are closed until the end of April, with the suspension of in-person medical examinations.
Law No. 13,982 established the advance payment of 1 minimum monthly wage for applicants for sickness benefit during the period of 3 months or until an assessment by the federal medical expert is carried out, “whichever occurs first”.
Requirements
To ensure assistance for insured individuals, an advance payment of R$1,045 per month will be made to those who apply for sickness benefit. All necessary information must be presented along with the certificate, such as the name of the doctor, the professional's CRM number, disease code/ICD, and specific date of rest.
The amount determined is close to the average figure for benefits granted by the agency: in January, the average value of sickness benefits granted was R$1,487.35.
After the in-person assessment, the difference will be passed on to the beneficiary. If the government doctors do not approve the granting of the benefit, the insured will not receive any supplement, but will also not have to return what has already been received if there is no evidence of attempted fraud.
For those who are already registered with Meu INSS, the process is simpler. However, it is also possible to make the request and send the certificate without having to register on the website. The request can be made through the Meu INSS app, available for cell phones with Android or iOS systems, or through the portal https://meu.inss.gov.br/.
