But what can we expect from the country at this point? A difficult question.

In the last 24 hours, Brazil recorded 204 new deaths from the novel coronavirus, according to data from the Ministry of Health released this Wednesday, the 15th. In total, there are now 1,736 deaths nationwide. The fatality rate is 6.1%, therefore, increasing daily.

As expected by the ministry, the number of confirmed infected patients jumped 3,000 in one day, reaching 28,320. This surge is the result of a greater number of tests being carried out and an indication that the contagion in the country is accelerating.

São Paulo has already become the epicenter of the disease

São Paulo continues to be the most affected, with 778 deaths and 11,043 confirmed cases of the disease. Rio de Janeiro (3,743 cases and 265 deaths), Ceará (2,157 cases and 116 deaths), Amazonas (1,554 cases and 106 deaths) and Pernambuco (1,584 cases and 143 deaths). Dória, the current governor of the state, is taking tough measures to combat this.

In the last 24 years alone, São Paulo has had around 83 confirmed coronavirus deaths, bringing the total to 778. This data was released on Wednesday afternoon, the 15th, by the State Health Department.

However, the ministry reports that, in the last seven days, the total number of confirmed deaths has increased by 82%, therefore, we have an even more worrying situation.
