The new Coronavirus pandemic has truly brought about major changes in the global political landscape, and for those who were hoping for the end of the quarantine in São Paulo in the coming days, they will have to wait for an indefinite period of time.
What the world is experiencing is literally a crisis of uncertainty, as there is still no effective cure to completely combat the new coronavirus. There are tests and models, but nothing is certain.
Everything that's being said in Brazil regarding a cure for the coronavirus is speculation, hypotheses, and attempts to put out the fire. This is why the vast majority of developed countries haven't completely relaxed their quarantine measures. And in Brazil, it couldn't be any different, despite the president's pro-reopening of commerce rhetoric.

To contain the coronavirus, SP will remain in quarantine
Doria promised this week that he will announce an extension of the quarantine in São Paulo to further reduce coronavirus transmission. This is the second extension of the quarantine that began on March 24th in all 645 municipalities in the state.
The situation is worrying: there have been 853 deaths caused by Covid-19 and 11,568 confirmed cases of infection. Experts predict even more alarming numbers.
The end was scheduled for April 22. With the extension, details of the duration period should be released early this Friday afternoon (17) during a press conference at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, in the South Zone of São Paulo.
