Unfortunately, Brazil broke a new record for deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours of April 28, with 474 new victims, and surpassed China in the total number of deaths caused by the new coronavirus. Brazil's previous record was 407 victims on April 23.
We are now the 9th country with the most victims in the world. According to a bulletin from the Ministry of Health, a total of 5,017 people have died from Covid-19. The ministry says that there are still 1,156 deaths under investigation.
There is much doubt, but in China, where the new virus originated, the official record is 4,637 deaths, the majority (4,512) in Wuhan, in Hubei province, according to Johns Hopkins University in the USA, which is monitoring the pandemic.
To the concern of all of us Brazilians, in terms of the number of people infected, Brazil ranks 11th in the ranking of countries, with 71,886. It is only behind China, which has 83,938 cases.
Governments on alert over Coronavirus
