Those who live in São Paulo will now have to adapt to the new public transport rules due to the danger of contamination from the new coronavirus.
To avoid contamination more quickly, they will be required to wear masks from next Monday (4) to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Where will they be mandatory? According to the SP secretariat, the measure is valid for passengers on the lines of the São Paulo Metropolitan Train Company (CPTM), Metro, interstate buses and in the city of São Paulo.

São Paulo is experiencing a complicated situation in relation to Covid-19
The state is the most infected by the new coronavirus, therefore, the measure will also be valid for taxis and app cars in the city of São Paulo.
The government announced that they will be published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (30). The decree will be from the City of São Paulo and another from the state government regarding the obligation. The government already recommended the use of masks throughout the state.
The governor of São Paulo stated:
“As of May 4, the use of masks on public transport, under the administration of the government of the state of São Paulo and the city government [of São Paulo], will be mandatory. And I am sure that this measure will also be followed by municipal decrees from other mayors of the state of São Paulo to make the use of masks mandatory.”
Who will supervise? This should be done by the companies, whether public or private. If any irregularity is found, the companies will be warned in writing and, in case of recurrence, they will be fined by Artesp.
Anyone who fails to comply with the rules will be warned. “The warning will be verbal, it will not be written, it will be verbal. I don’t see why anyone would want to not wear a mask and put their own health and the health of others at risk,” Doria added.
When asked about tightening rules during the quarantine, since the state has a low isolation rate, the governor said that he is already doing so by making masks mandatory. “If the Health Department recommends new measures, we will have no hesitation in adopting them.” The Governor emphasized that he is working with scientific recommendations, not religious ones.
Anyway, what did you think?
