The university reported that the country recorded 2,053 deaths on Thursday, after 2,502 deaths on Wednesday and 2,207 on Tuesday.

It is always good to remember that the United States is the country most affected by the pandemic in terms of number of deaths, ahead of Italy (27,967 deaths), the United Kingdom (26,711), Spain (24,543) and France (24,376), according to an AFP report released at 4 pm on Friday, prepared based on official data.

Since its emergence in China in December, the new coronavirus has killed at least 230,000 people worldwide.
