However, this list may change from time to time, due to economic changes and other factors affecting the world economy.
Therefore, it is worth remembering that nominal GDP is the average of a country's total economic production on a given date that does not take into account price variations.
Some countries with smaller but faster-growing economies may eventually overtake some of these countries in the coming years.
How is a country's GDP determined?
A country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the sum of all final goods and services produced within its borders in a given period of time, usually a year.
It is determined by the sum of household consumption expenditure, business investment, government expenditure, and exports minus imports.
GDP is widely used as a measure of a country's economy and its growth over time.
Who calculates GDP?
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is the entity that publishes countries' GDPs annually.
In this sense, each country has an agency responsible for calculating and determining the Gross Domestic Product. In Brazil, the agency responsible for this is the IBGE.
The Institute takes into account 3 sectors of the economy: industry, you services and the agriculture.
The growth of agribusiness in recent years was one of the reasons that led Brazil to return to the ranking of 10 countries richest in the world.
