When paying in cash, taxpayers have the option of donating the discount amount to charitable organizations in the Blumenau region. south.
This year, taxpayers will have another option when paying their Property and Land Tax (IPTU): contributing to social actions and charitable organizations. Those who wish to contribute may choose to pay in a single account (white sheet) and without a discount.
According to the Secretary of Finance, César Poltronieri, the law that makes this initiative possible for taxpayers was approved at the end of last year.

— The payment slip contains a specific guide for this, due in February and with the full amount of the tax. It is a voluntary contribution. Citizens who wish to help these social projects can pay this way to make the donation, explains the secretary.
Receive Resources
The amount corresponding to the single-payment discount is donated to the Municipal Social Assistance Fund. According to the amount collected, the Municipal Social Assistance Council (CMAS) defines the projects that will receive the resource.
President of CMAS, Patrícia Sasse explains that all investment is applied to what the population needs most.
— With this action, we will be able to increase the resources allocated to social projects developed by entities in our municipality, which will certainly be a step forward for our area. The president concluded.
All taxpayers who reside or own properties in Blumenau have already received their IPTU payment slip and can choose to pay in full and receive a discount – which may vary depending on the payment date – or pay in installments throughout the year.
Even those who choose not to donate can still pay the IPTU in full. Therefore, those who do so in February will receive a discount of R$5%. However, if the full payment is made in March, the discount increases to R$3%. Residents can also pay the tax in up to 11 installments, with a minimum installment of R$$ 20.
