The dollar rose and renewed its record nominal closing level (without considering inflation) this Friday (21). At the session high, the US currency reached the R$ 4.40 range for the first time.

The dollar closed the day at R$ 4.3926 on the sell side, up 0.02%. At the opening bell, it hit R$ 4.4061 – a new intraday nominal high on record. The low was R$ 4.3725.

The tourist dollar was traded at R$ 4.5882. At exchange offices, considering the IOF (Tax on Financial Operations) charge, it was offered in the morning above R$ 4.60 for purchases in paper money and R$ 4.84 on prepaid cards.
