The 32nd edition of Super Rio Expofood, an event that brings together the entire food retail chain, begins next Monday with a space dedicated to import and export.

The new measure aims to foster international business between suppliers and businesspeople from Brazil and other Latin American countries.

There will be business rounds and product and food displays at all the booths of the more than 500 participating brands. Super Rio Expofood runs until Wednesday, in a 40,000 m² area set up at Riocentro in Barra da Tijuca.

"Foreign suppliers will present their products to Brazilian supermarket owners, and vice versa. There will be a series of tables, one next to the other, so they can sit and negotiate," explains Fábio Queiróz, president of the Rio de Janeiro State Supermarket Association (Asserj), which organizes the event.

At the company booths, where new products and services will be launched in supermarkets in the coming months, there will also be negotiation areas. A team from the State Credit Promotion Agency (AgeRio) will provide support to buyers. "This way, we will have a complete business environment, bringing together supply, demand, and access to credit in one place."

Another new addition this year will be the Expo Nature space, geared towards organic producers. Confirmed companies include Fit'Óka, which offers baked goods made with tapioca dough, coconut oil, and fiber, and Elemento Mineral, which produces cosmetics using rocks, crystals, and metals.

Training space will have more than 100 lectures

In addition to fostering business in food retail, Super Rio Expofood aims to educate entrepreneurs on technological advances in the sector. This year, the SRE Conference Arena will be set up in the center of Pavilion 3 at Riocentro. More than 100 presentations are planned on topics such as market trends, management processes, and consumer experience.

"We'll be demonstrating new technological devices. We'll have a supermarket of the future, where visitors can experience app-based payment technology. While this will eliminate supermarket lines," says Fábio Queiróz, citing other devices: "We'll also showcase technologies that identify shelf life for products and assist with logistics."

In short, the lectures will also address topics related to socio-emotional skills. "We start from the following observation: a more centered human being will be a better entrepreneur," says Queiróz.
