The payment of the salary bonus from the Public Servant Asset Formation Program (Pasep) is made by Banco do Brasil, according to the final digit of the public servant's registration number.

Workers with an account at Caixa, in the case of PIS, or an account at Banco do Brasil, for Pasep, will receive the credit automatically.

Who is entitled to payment

Workers who have been registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years will be entitled to receive the payment. They must have been in formal employment for at least 30 days throughout 2019, with an average monthly salary of up to two minimum wages. To be entitled to the benefit, the employer must also have informed the employee's data in the 2019 Annual Social Information Report (RAIS).

For workers identified with RAIS after the deadline, submitted by September 30, 2020, the payment of the allowance will be made available from November 4 of that year.

The payment ceiling is up to one minimum wage (R$ 1,045), with the amount calculated in proportion to one twelfth of the salary. The amount that each worker will receive will be in proportion to the number of months worked formally in 2019.

Heirs will also be entitled to payment. In the event of the death of a participating person, the heirs must present documentary proof of both the death and the beneficiary status.
