The new coronavirus is affecting the population, and some Brazilians are far from believing in the danger of contact and the spread of the virus. Therefore, the government has created laws to close businesses and impose inspections in states such as Ceará.
In Juazeiro do Norte, elderly people insist on sitting on the sidewalks for their routine conversation, as they are the most likely to become seriously infected. For example, some residents in the city of Cariri continue their routine and if things get worse, they stay at home.

Even so, the capital of Ceara is where social isolation is being carried out. It is clear that, in general, isolation is taking place in the capitals and cities with more inhabitants. Even so, in small towns in the interior, many people are still walking around the streets. Only banks and businesses remain in general isolation.
However, the cases of contamination are among 20 confirmed cases, in inland cities such as:
- Sobral: 5 cases;
- Quixadá: 2 cases;
- Icó: 2 cases;
- Tianguá: 1 case;
- Itapipoca: 1 case;
- Itapaje: 1 case;
- Itaporanga: 1 case;
- Canindé: 1 case;
- Juazeiro: 1 case;
- Jaguaribe: 1 case;
- Mauriti: 1 case;
- Beberibe: 1 case;
- Farias Brito: 1 case;
- Fort: 1 case;
- Santa Quiteria: 1 case.
Therefore, with residents of inland cities unconcerned about virus contamination, there are already deaths caused by the coronavirus in the cities of Jaguaribe, Santa Quitéria and Tianguá.
Routine crowding in Ceará
The public market in the Pirajá neighborhood, in the city of Juazeiro, continued to operate normally yesterday (3), although the state decreed that fairs are prohibited. When open, the stalls attract buyers and the space in the aisles is narrow.
Therefore, for some market vendors, there is no way to close the markets, as their sources of income come directly from the sale of fruits and vegetables, how would they survive without income.
In short, the places where people have been gathering are at bank branches, where many people need to pay bills. In lines and in several places in banks, people do not respect social distancing. A distance of 1.5 meters is required, as is the use of masks.
