The decree aims to establish shifts in working hours to avoid crowds and thus reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Rio Mayor Marcelo Crivella announced this Sunday (5) a new decree that will be published, establishing work shifts for the commerce, industry and services sectors. The new decision is to avoid crowds.
"The first shift will begin in factories, followed by essential activities that remain open, and then the service sector. This measure aims to reduce overcrowding on public transport, preventing contagious crowds," Crivella stated.

Crivella also added: "All efforts made by the Municipal Guard, Military Police, and inspectors from the Municipal Department of Transportation have still proven insufficient. We've been considering this option since March 13th, when we held our first crisis cabinet meeting. But due to a lack of voluntary implementation, it will now be enforced by law."
This Sunday or at the beginning of the week, the Legislative Decree should be published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette.
Lava Jato Money
Crivella reported that federal judge José Eduardo Nobre Mata, of the 9th Criminal Court, requested that the City of Rio de Janeiro present projects to combat Covid-19 so that the resources seized by the courts in Operation Lava-Jato can be released.
"I'm grateful for this initiative by Dr. José Eduardo Nobre Mata. Using the money diverted in the corruption scheme that devastated public finances to help the population is perfect. I've already ordered the secretaries to present projects as quickly as possible," said the mayor.
