The distribution of food vouchers is one of the measures adopted by the State Government to mitigate the effects of the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Ceará is one of the states hardest hit by the disease, with more than 1,400 cases and 57 deaths from COVID-19.

Although the amount of R$ 80 will be paid in two installments, and the total investment will be R$ 40 million, according to Camilo Santana. In a video broadcast on social media, the governor also stated that he spoke with the Minister of Health, Luiz Henrique Mandetta, and pointed out the need for support from the ministry.

“He made himself completely available to the Ceará government and promised to send equipment to Ceará today,” said Camilo Santana.

Social Isolation

"There are still a lot of people out there thinking this isn't serious, that it won't happen to them, but I'm warning you. Staying home and avoiding crowds protects not only your family but also others.

However, this is a delicate time, and I once again want to appeal to the people of Ceará, to each of you, to every family in Ceará. The great contribution, stated not only by me but by the world's leading health experts, is that, in addition to the care we must take with personal hygiene, the best prevention is social isolation.

"For those who aren't working in essential services, stay home. If you need to go out, protect yourself and wear a mask. If you go to the supermarket, avoid contact with people. When you get home, take off your shoes while still outside, take a shower, change your clothes—in short, take important precautions to prevent coronavirus transmission."
