Together, these three municipalities in Acre have a special tax regime in relation to the Tax on Industrialized Products (IPI) and the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Provision of Services (ICMS).

“Changes were made to the tax benefits of Free Trade Areas and this was very detrimental to businesspeople in my state, especially those who work in the wholesale sector. They told me that their revenue had fallen by more than 10% and they were worried about the situation,” he reported.

“Therefore, my request is that we can strengthen these areas both in Acre and in other states in the Amazon.

Our region needs to develop and I understand that we must come together so that we can create all the conditions to generate employment and income,” added the governor.

Suframa Board of Directors approves 32 industrial projects

The main topic discussed during the meeting was the evaluation and approval of 32 industrial projects. The positive signal from the Board of Directors represents a bold investment of 188.7 million dollars.

The initiatives include the installation of 12 new factories and the updating, diversification and expansion of another 20 ventures.

The expectation is that 1,300 new jobs will be created in the first three years. In addition, activities at the Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM) will be carried out. The ceremony also celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) and the Superintendence of the Manaus Free Trade Zone.

Cameli also took advantage of the meeting and requested more opportunities and tax incentives so that other Amazonian states have the chance to develop industrially.

The manager mentioned that Acre is open to receiving investments and that the government will give full support, however, to projects that contribute to the state's progress.

“We need to have the same opportunity and equal treatment so that we can develop.

In Acre, we have almost 1 million people who need a chance in the job market. Although the government has been providing full support and legal security for those who really want to work.

We believe in agribusiness and industrialization as the economic salvation of our state. For those who want to invest, I say that Acreanos is open to receive them,” Gladson stressed.
