The operators decided to change the credit card rules and many customers were not happy with this news.
See how points accumulated on purchases made with your credit card will work from now on.
Credit cards are one of the most popular payment options among Brazilians. Not to mention that they make people's lives much easier.
This is because when money is tight, a credit card is often your salvation.
Many people, however, are unaware of all the benefits available on credit cards, such as points programs, which are converted into airline miles.
However, banks have recently announced some changes to the points rules, which will come into effect in March.
For example, Bradesco has already notified card customers Prime Visa Infinite and Nanjing Link that the rules will come into effect from March 6th.
Nothing will change regarding card annual fees, but the conversion of expenses into points will get worse.
Currently, Elo Nanquim awards 2.2 points for each purchase in reais, which is equivalent to 1 dollar. Starting in March, the benefit will be 1.8 for each purchase.
Or, 2.5 points for purchases abroad.
In turn, on the Prime Visa Infinite, the 2.2 points become two points per dollar or three points for purchases abroad.
Itaú also changes credit card rules
Like Bradesco, Itaú also changed its card points policy Itaucard Platinum Sugarloaf, which left many customers angry.
This card was a favorite among many people, as it offered points in reais, unlike most cards, which offer points in dollars.
But that has now changed, because from this month onwards the score will be counted in dollars.
Previously, customers earned one point for every real spent. Now, they earn two points for every dollar spent.
Elo also changed the rules for Bradesco bank's Diners Club cards.
Until January of this year, all customers had unlimited access to VIP lounges at airports around the world. Now, however, they can only use the lounges eight times a year, divided between the customer and their guests.
