Covid-19 has been the biggest concern for global authorities, as it has directly affected the functioning of society as we know it, but how long will we continue to live with this uncertainty?
In fact, we don't know, however, many banks are taking steps to contribute to the fight against the new coronavirus that has already killed thousands of people around the world.
We talked about this matter here, the record donation of Itaú Bank, now, other banks have started to move to try to speed up the process of fighting Covid-19.
The official news was published by Sheet. Banco do Brasil and Bradesco announced last Saturday (18) the donation of R$ 20 million to Fiocruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) for the production of rapid diagnostic kits for Covid-19. The tests will be destined for the Ministry of Health.

Lack of Covid-19 testing in Brazil
Unfortunately, we still have a significant lack of testing in Brazil to quantify the level of Covid-19 contamination. This has been seen as a problem in the fight against the pandemic.
Furthermore, according to recommendations from leading experts on the subject around the world, including Atila Marinho, reopening the economy is only considered viable when the population can be tested and the sick can be isolated, which does not appear to be the case in Brazil.
About donations to fight coronavirus
We know that large banks have made various donations to initiatives to combat the coronavirus.
As mentioned above, this week alone, Itaú announced R$1 billion, bringing the amount donated in the last 40 days by companies, families and individuals to a record R$2.5 billion, according to the Covid-19 Donations Monitor.
As far as we know, of the total resources allocated to combat the pandemic, 63% comes from the financial system.
However, now, the donation from Banco do Brasil and Bradesco will be made indirectly by EloPar, a financial services company controlled by the two banks responsible for the Elo brand.
Finally, to calm the market, Luiz Carlos, chairman of Bradesco's board of directors, told Folha:
We are adding our contribution to the efforts of all Brazilian society in seeking rapid responses in the fight against the coronavirus.”
