To prevent further spread of coronavirus, mayors decide to temporarily suspend municipal public transport services.
The interruption will be gradual until March 28th and total from the 29th.
On the morning of Wednesday the 18th, in an assembly held by the Grande ABC Intermunicipal Consortium, mayors of seven cities in Greater São Paulo defined the temporary closure of activities in the municipality's public transport sector.
The service interruption will occur gradually, until March 28th. From March 29th, the suspension will become total. It will remain in place for an indefinite period.

The decision was made after confirmation on Tuesday (17) of the first death in the state of São Paulo, resulting from the coronavirus.
The cities that are part of the consortium are the cities of Santo André, São Caetano, São Bernardo, Diadema, Mauá, Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra.
The measure is one of the strategies to contain the spread of the pandemic. In a statement, the consortium reported that the decision aims to minimize harm to the population and preserve lives in Greater ABC.
Government announces closure of shopping malls and gyms
On Wednesday (18), Governor João Doria announced the closure of all shopping malls and gyms in the capital of São Paulo and the metropolitan region. To contain the spread of the virus, the closure should last until April 30.
The deadline for closing activities in shopping malls is next Monday and for gyms, until Sunday the 22nd.
“All shopping malls must be closed until March 23. In other words, from tomorrow, March 19, until March 23, shopping malls must be closed for health reasons and to protect their employees, professionals and, of course, people. The closure is scheduled until April 30,” said Doria. According to him, the closure may happen gradually, but should occur by next Monday at the latest.
