Import of respirators
Brazil has been having difficulty importing ventilators. According to information from Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta, this week, a Chinese company that was supposed to be responsible for delivering 15,000 units of mechanical ventilators did not guarantee that it would actually make the delivery.
In early April, the government of Bahia accused the United States of holding back a shipment of respirators in Miami that had been purchased by the state from a Chinese company. The sale was canceled by the company.
