The Secretary of Public Works and Housing, José Stédile, signed an emergency contract to carry out works at the Érica Marques State Basic Education School, in Terra de Areia, on the North Coast gaucho. Although R$498,042 will be invested in the renovation, the school currently serves 800 students and has been closed since August last year.
The renovation will cover blocks of secondary education, the administrative department, elementary education, in addition to the implementation of the new sewage system and the new electricity input.
Works and Education
“The project represents everything to the school community,” summarized principal Vivian Vieira dos Santos. She says that, since the closure, classes have been held in a rented space near the school. “Our institution is a reference in the city, but we were losing several students due to the situation,” she added.
Secretary José Stédile recalled the joint work between the Public Works and Education departments. “We replaced the previous company that had started the renovation. Once the issue is resolved, we will demand excellence and speed from the new company responsible for the services,” he highlighted. However, he mentioned the company Elétrica Energy Ltda., headquartered in Santa Rosa, which will take over the works. The renovation is expected to be completed within 180 days.
Above all, the Regional Public Works Coordination Office is responsible for carrying out, through the technical sector, works inspection, execution of new public coastal works, expansion, adaptation, conservation, recovery and improvement of public buildings owned, ceded or rented by the state public administration.
