The Bahia Municipal Health Department reported that to date, in relation to Covid-19, 3,404 cases have been discarded, 128 people have recovered and there have been 15 deaths, 11 of which were in the municipality of Salvador.
In an interview with the press and the G1 news portal, the Bahia State Health Department (Sesab) confirmed, on the afternoon of last Wednesday (8), 35 more cases of contamination by the new coronavirus in the state, totaling 497 infected patients.
Previously, Sesab had already confirmed the 15th death from Covid-19 during the morning.
According to information published by the Bahia State Health Department, the Covid-19 number includes all cases from January until noon this Wednesday. In total, 128 people have recovered and 50 people are hospitalized, 28 of whom are in the ICU. To date, 3,404 cases have been ruled out.

Covid 19 in Bahia – important updates
A new bulletin on the number of Covid 19 cases will be released at the end of the afternoon, with a list of cities where new cases were registered.
Sesab clarified that in total, of the 15 deaths recorded in the state, 11 occurred in Salvador. The remaining four deaths are distributed between Lauro de Freitas (1), Itapetinga (1), Utinga (1) and Adustina (1).
Coronavirus deaths in Bahia
Many people still don't believe what is happening, however, the virus is both simple and powerful.
Then, the first death in the state was reported on March 29. It was a 74-year-old man, resident of Salvador, who was hospitalized at the Hospital da Bahia, with other associated diseases. He was hypertensive, an ex-smoker, dyslipidemic (with a high level of fat in the blood) and with radiological signs of pulmonary emphysema.
Continuously, as has been happening in the world, in Bahia, it was not so different, the second death was registered on March 30th.
However, it must be said that the patient was a 64-year-old man who was hospitalized at Hospital Aliança, a private unit in the capital of Bahia. The state health secretary, Fábio Vilas Boas, explained that the patient was diabetic and hypertensive.
The department reported the third death from the new covid-19 last Thursday (2). The patient was an 88-year-old man, diabetic, with heart disease, using a pacemaker and a smoker until the age of 40. He had been in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital da Bahia since March 23.
