The Secretariat of Economic Development announced the release of R$68 million in resources for seven companies in the Federal District thus being secretariat 20 of the Integrated Development Region of the Federal District and Surrounding Area (Ride), in 13 municipalities.
This was the largest amount released at one time by the Committee for Financing Productive Activities (Cofap), managed by the ministry, and occurred during the group's most recent meeting, last week. Therefore, the committee's meetings are monthly and are made up of representatives from different sectors of the DF economy.

Secretary of the department, Ruy Coutinho, stated that only one request was rejected. The main reason was the location of the company, which is in Anápolis (GO), outside Ride. “The rural sector predominated. But not only that.
Other Sectors
This is true in the areas of commerce, industry and services. In our understanding, this signals a sense of recovery in the local and national economy among businesspeople. At the last meeting, at the end of last year, the total was R$1.4T 30 million.”
The resources for these companies come from the Constitutional Fund for Financing the Central-West (FCO), provided for in the Federal Constitution to promote the economic development of the federative units in this region. Operations that exceed R$1,500,000 must be submitted to Cofap.
Job creation
The forecast is that the release will favor the creation of 257 direct jobs and 573 indirect jobs. The company that obtained the largest credit (R$ 10.5 million) is located in Formosa (GO) and operates in the agricultural products sector.
In order for the amount to be released by Cofap, the company needs to undergo a credit assessment, which includes proof of payment capacity and an analysis of the quality of the project in which the money will be invested.
“This is work normally done by banks. It is important, otherwise it would become a festival of defaults,” Coutinho highlighted.
“We have indications that we will have a good demand for the FCO (in the coming months), especially in rural areas, on the occasion of Agrobrasília, which takes place in May. The departments and companies that will participate in the event will obviously be interested.”
