Valparaíso de Goiás: Government Authorizes Infrastructure Works in Araruama Park

With the community present, the Municipal Government of Valparaíso de Goias, through the chief executive, Mayor Pábio Mossoró, authorized this Monday (17/02), the start of infrastructure works for the Araruama neighborhood.

The action allocates just over three million for earthmoving, paving, curb and drainage works. There will be 3 thousand meters of asphalt, 6 thousand of curb and all the rainwater drainage, for adequate rain containment. The expectation is that everything will be completed in 7 months.

Planned Works

In his speech, Mayor Pábio Mossoró spoke about this historic day for the Araruama neighborhood. “Today we reap the fruits of the hard work of the Infrastructure Department in Valparaíso de Goiás. Every project must be planned. Here, it was no use just laying asphalt; a complete project was needed, with galleries and paving.

We will deliver 100% of the paved neighborhood to the community, and we will also allocate two plots of land for the construction of a square and sports court for the youth's leisure. Merit to the community that fought and believed”, concluded Pábio.

Regarding investment, Pastor Iranildo, in his speech, reported that the community had been crying out for improvements for years. “This population has suffered for 30 years, but God raised up serious people to do the work and bring dignity and citizenship to these people. We thank God first and then Mayor Pábio and his team. It is a unique and unparalleled joy to finally see something happening here.”

Bidding Process

According to the Secretary of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Services, Antônio Reis, the program also allocates funds to the Ipanema and Pacaembu neighborhoods. In addition, the mayor also announced that a bidding process will be held in the coming days for works in the Ipiranga neighborhood, which was awarded almost five million.

Federal Deputy Célio Silveira also left a message to the residents. “This community has been waiting for this project for many years and it is coming under the management of the efficient Mayor Pábio. Therefore, of the three million, one million and five hundred thousand reais is the result of my amendments and my commitment to this municipality of Valparaíso de Goiás.”

Although to date Célio Silveira has already allocated almost 200 million for paving works, renovations of health units, purchases of vehicles and machinery and for funding the Municipal Cataract Surgery Program. “The works are taking place in all neighborhoods of the municipality and my job is to bring resources to continue moving forward”, pointed out Célio.

Also participating in the event were residents Fernando and Natalino, who are part of the leadership of the Pacaembu neighborhood, Mr. Expedito Pioneiro, the president of the Chamber Zé Antônio, councilor Flávio Lopes, councilwomen Elenir and Maria do Monte, secretariat, government team, community and local press.
